A: You have several options. You can access our online order form, you can send it in an email, or you can call and place it over the phone. You will also be given a portrait packet that includes an order form, which you can mail or drop off. Q: How long do I have to review my proofs? A: Printed proofs are available for your review for 14 days ($150.00 deposit required) Online proofs are available for 30 days. Q: How long will the portrait session take? A: That depends on the number of locations and the number of people. Senior portraits at many locations please allot 2.5-3 hrs. Family groups at 1 or 2 locations please allot 2 hrs. Children at 1 location allot 1 hr. Add approx. 1 hour per additional location. Q: What clothing do you recommend? A: Generally, busy patterns take away from the photograph. Try to wear solid tops. BUT, it is important to dress that way you like in the clothing you are comfortable in!!! Larger groups and families, dressing in similar, solid colors is suggested. Q: Is payment due at the time of my order? A: Yes, payment is due when you place your order. Q: Can I order something from just the Catalog? A: No. A package must be ordered in order to purchase anything from our catalog. Q: Is there an extra charge if I want to bring any props, pets or friends to have in my photos? A: No. Any props and/or friends incur no additional charge. Q: Does the sitting fee include separate family groups if we book a large family photo shoot? A: This differs depending on the time of year, but usually try to book 2 to 3 weeks in advance of desired date. Q: Do you have an indoor studio? A: No. I specialize in outdoor photography. The locations, light, shadows and natural environment are what I love about photography. I believe that this is vital to the most natural portraits. Some couples like to pose formally, some with a romantic twist. Some Seniors like the traditional poses, some like to do it a little differently, as in water pictures with wet hair. Some parents want their children posed, looking directly at the camera, some like the shoot to be natural, kids at play! Some women like the more traditional poses, and some want it with a boudoir look and feel! Q: Can I place a re-order for more photo's after my initial order? A: Yes. There is no time limit for re-orders. All portraits are archived electronically and kept indefinitely. There will be a $50.00 set up fee for re-posting to the web site or re-ordering printed proofs after 1 year if you do not know the portrait numbers you wish to order. *NOTE* A charge of $5.00 is added to each portrait re-order to cover shipping costs. A charge of $10.00 is added to anything ordered from the catalog to cover shipping costs. The above charges are to cover shipping to my home. If the product needs to be shipped to you, please add and additional $15.00 to the totals above. Q: Do you offer portraits on CD? A: Do to copyright issues, we do offer CD's for the cost of printed proofs only. Each proof is $12.00, so your total will depend on the amount of proofs in your collection. If you wish to order an uncopyrighted CD, without printed proofs so you can print your own copies, the charge per CD is $350.00. Q: What time of day do you schedule the photo shoots? A: Generally, mid-morning and late afternoon is the optimal time for outdoor photography. Appointments are usually scheduled in spring and summer from approx. 9:00 a.m. til noon and afternoons 4:00 p.m. til dusk. Winter hours vary depending on sunrise and sunset times. Q: Do you photography weddings? A: No, we do not photograph weddings. Our preference is in smaller, more intimate groups. Also, we do not have an assistant photographer, which is highly recommended for weddings for proper coverage. Q: Do you do on site photography at a location of my choice? A: Yes, we will travel to any location of your choice. If the location is outside of Grand Haven, there will be a small trip charge. Call for details. Q: What is wallet embossing? A: Wallet embossing is when you have your name and/or year stamped (embossed) onto the lower right hand corner of your wallets. Q: What does "die cut" mean? A: Die cut means that the corners of your wallets are rounded, not square. Q: What if I need to have my order shipped to my home? A: All shipped orders are sent via UPS ground for a flat fee of $15.00. Expedited shipping (next day air, 2nd day air, etc.) is available for an addition cost. Please call for pricing. Senior Portrait FAQ's Q: Do you supply the picture I need to submit to my school for the year book? A: Yes, we supply free of charge one pose of your choice with any portrait package order. Please let us know the size and quantity your school requires when you place your portrait order. Yearbook photos can not be given to you until your entire order is placed and paid in full. Q: Q: How do I get my Yearbook photo when you only do outdoor photography? A: The schools usually request that your photo have a plain and/ or an "unbusy" background. This is accomplished by you picking your favorite photo. Almost any photo can be chosen and either cropped and/or background edited to satisfy the schools preference. Please select the link on the "Seniors" page for examples. **Notes** 1) Several standard poses are always taken, so it is not always necessary to pick one for editing. 2) The guidelines from the schools are "guidelines, not "requirements". Plain, pale blue backgrounds? :) We don't get our Senior Portraits taken at Wal-Mart!!!! :) Q: Do Senior Portrait proofs come in folios? A: No. All printed proofs are presented in a photo album that must be returned to Majik Photography along with the proofs.
